Solutions / Iron fouling
Iron removal for chilled water systems
Our patented Halbach-array magnetic treatment aggregates fine iron oxide for capture by downstream filtration.
01 / Installation
Where it installs
Deployed on side-stream filter piping or upstream of sand filters in bypass loop configuration. The magnetic field promotes iron aggregation so particles can be captured by existing filtration.
- Treatment
- Flocculation
- Downstream filter
What a trial can measure
- Mass capture
- Grams captured per 1,000 gallons filtered
- Flow rate
- Treated vs control leg comparison
- Iron concentration
- PPM trend via lab sampling
- Differential pressure
- Filter loading trend over time
- Site context
- Approved secondary measures when applicable
02 / LAX Terminal 5
Field observations
Bag filter saturated with iron oxide precipitate; iron-rich material observed near magnetic treatment devices
LAX readings fell from 3.9 ppm in June 2024 to 0.51 ppm in December. Later readings were higher
Two-filter test/control series used flow totalization and weighed filters for validation
Microbial outcomes require separate site testing; HydroFlux is not a biocide

Planning your trial
We agree on success measures before testing. Where practical, we compare treated and untreated water under similar conditions. We record cleaning, filter changes and other operating changes when assessing the result.
A trial on your loop
Get data from your own system, measured so the result can be traced to the treatment.
