Frequently asked questions
What HydroFlux does, what your system needs, and how we would measure the result.
01 / Questions
How does HydroFlux work?
A magnetic bracelet clamps around suitable pipe. For iron fouling, it helps fine particles gather for downstream filtration. For cooling tower scale, we assess changes in deposits and ease of removal. Each application needs its own site review and measurements.
Does it replace our filters?
No. In an iron-fouling application, HydroFlux helps particles gather and filtration removes them from the water. We review the capture equipment with your team. Filters and strainers still need service.
Which systems could benefit?
We assess two applications: iron fouling in water loops and mineral scale in cooling towers. Both occur at airports, data centers, campuses, commercial buildings and industrial plants. An iron trial needs a suitable capture path. A cooling tower scale trial starts with water chemistry, deposits and cleaning history.
What about rust flakes or larger debris?
Large flakes, scale chips and weld debris may need strainers, separators or other removal equipment. HydroFlux does not replace that equipment. We review samples and the water path to see whether fine iron is also a problem. Deposit color alone does not identify the material.
Does HydroFlux treat mineral scale too?
Cooling tower scale management is a HydroFlux application. A nine-day pilot reported softer, more easily removed deposits on the treated tube. We review your water chemistry and deposits before proposing a trial. That pilot does not establish full-scale water or energy savings.
Will it fit our pipe or hose?
We check the material, outside diameter, wall thickness and available space. Some sites need a suitable replacement pipe section. We confirm compatibility before proposing an installation.
Will installation require a shutdown?
The bracelet can go onto suitable existing pipe while the system runs. Pipe replacement, new filter connections or other work may require an outage. We review those needs with your team before installation.
What if flow or pressure is already a problem?
The bracelet sits outside the pipe. An added filter loop still needs enough pressure to move water through the filter and back into the system. We review flow, pressure, filter location and the return point before proposing added equipment or a pump.
Will a cooling tower filter protect every heat exchanger?
Not necessarily. A filter can only capture material that reaches it. We trace the water path to check whether debris reaches a heat exchanger first. Filter location matters as much as filter capacity.
Does it require electricity?
The magnetic bracelet needs no electrical power. Pumps, powered filters and other equipment still need their normal utilities and maintenance.
Can we stop chemical treatment or biological control?
No. HydroFlux adds no chemicals, but it does not replace your approved water treatment, corrosion control or disinfection program. We do not claim that it kills bacteria. Your water treatment team controls any changes to that program.
What do the LAX results tell us?
Customer records show lower sampled iron between June and December 2024, with higher readings later. Selected filter comparisons also showed more captured material with treatment. Unequal flow, filter placement and other operating changes limit the conclusions. The results support further site testing, not a guaranteed improvement at your facility.
How would we know whether HydroFlux helped?
We agree on success measures before a trial. An iron trial can track iron levels, filter loading and cleaning frequency. A scale trial can track deposits, ease of removal and cooling performance. Where practical, we compare treated and untreated systems under similar conditions. We record other operating changes when assessing the result.
What do you need from us to start?
Start with the iron fouling, scale deposits or cleaning problem you see. Photos, water tests, service records and a piping drawing help if available. We identify missing information and decide with your team whether an assessment makes sense.
How long does a project take?
Timing depends on site access, pipe preparation and any added equipment. The trial also needs enough operating time to measure the agreed outcomes. We set the schedule with your team after reviewing the system.
